Sacai

Chitose Abe honed her directional aesthetic alongside Rei Kawakubo and Junya Watanabe at Comme des Garçons before launching Sacai in 1999. Drawing inspiration from observing human movement within Tokyo’s metropolis, the Japanese designer’s cult-followed line is renowned for reimagining classic garments into hybrid silhouettes using a contrasting combination of cuts, patterns and textures. The result is a range of versatile and practical pieces, including sweaters, polo shirts and bags, that are enlivened by eye-catching patchworks and unexpected trims.
